About
How I work and what I make is a result of an intense relationship between my materials, media and process. In a world that’s increasingly digital, I am especially particular about celebrating the materials and techniques I employ and the element of unpredictability and spontaneity that they bring. Organic processes such as ink washes and water colour give movement, texture, and a sense of unruliness to the work, creating a dynamic balance between control and chance.
My style is rooted in photographic realism, combining photo-processed silkscreens, spray paint, stencils, inks, and collage to create richly textured and vibrant images. By blending these diverse media, I construct layered compositions that often possess a surreal quality while remaining firmly grounded in contemporary visual culture.
Working with silkscreen and light-sensitive stencil emulsion gives me access to an almost limitless range of imagery, allowing me to be completely versatile with subject matter.
